Colorado Springs New Homes: Off-road park

Indeed, “The Board of County Commissioners has approved a resolution authorizing the Parks and Leisure Services Department to purchase or lease land located near County Highway 94 and Blaney Road in eastern El Paso County for an off-road vehicle park if the county receives a grant from the Colorado State Trails program.” The project would: • include at least 20 miles of trails after the first phase of construction • be designed to “minimize environmental impacts” • be in conjunction with Aztec Family Raceway A point worth noting is that the park would not require taxpayer funding, so really this is a great situation for the Colorado Springs New Homes area, as four-wheeling enthusiasts would have a great place to spend their time; other four-wheeling enthusiasts could potentially be drawn here, giving our economy a slight boost; taxpayers will be none the worse for the wear. Sounds like a pretty great deal to us here at Colorado Springs New Homes. Meta DataComment from: robert ruble [Visitor] when is the park going to be open or is it going to be open at all? please get back to me on this please Comment from: Brian Wilson [Visitor] Hi Robert, Last I heard (about two months ago), the park was being put on hold because of funding issues and logistics. There was no word on a revamped timetable. I will let you know asap if/when I hear more on this. Thanks, Brian Comment from: Cristine [Visitor] FYI: This park is proposed for motorcyclists only- no quads or four-wheeling. In addition, over 1/2 million $ from the Conservation Trust Fund and Regional Park Fees (funded by fees assessed to developers) are targeted for this park, so, don't think El Paso County residents aren't paying!
