Colorado Springs New Homes No. 1 Fittest CityAs if there was any doubt, Colorado Springs has been name the "fittest city in America for 2008" according to Men's Fitness magazine. The Gazette highlighted the distinction here today. Among the criteria used by Men's Fitness to determine the most fit city:

- amount of open space and number of parks

- weather patters

- eating habits

After ranking No. 3 in 2007 and No. 6 the year before that, we have finally claimed the top spot this year! I suppose the real credit here goes to our beautiful surroundings here in the Colorado Springs New Homes area -- hiking trails and mountains close by, generally sunny weather (at least once a day, right?), and a dry, cool atmosphere all make good reasons to go outside. Additionally, it always seems like the gyms are packed at the close of each workday, so whether outside or inside, many people are exercising and staying fit. So I suppose we can now officially market our city as one of the best places to get fit and stay fit, a distinction that definitely benefits the people of our city in the long run.
