Colorado Springs New Homes: Helping make our city a great blogging city

We were excited at Colorado Springs New Homes to read a new report from Scarborough Research – the leading local market research firm for identifying consumer and retail behavior in the United States – which finds that Colorado Springs is the tenth best market for people who read or contribute to blogs nationally. The report states that 11 percent of adults in Colorado Springs are bloggers, meaning they have read or contributed to a blog within the past 30 days. Austin, TX, was the top-ranked city with 15 percent, this compared with 8 percent nationally.

According to the study:

• “The top cities for bloggers have tech savvy and youth in common”

• Bloggers “are more than three times more likely than all Internet users to download Podcasts”

• Bloggers are “more than twice as likely to download/watch videos online”

The report abounds with demographic data and statistics, but those are a few of the highlights. Incidentally, according to our own independent study, 100% of Colorado Springs New Homes bloggers are blogging 100% of the time.

Blogging is a great thing to be part of, and it is gaining incredible momentum. The way bloggers share ideas is quick and easy, and the amount of information in the blogosphere seems infinite. This is a great distinction for our city because it is indicative of the knowledgeable youth, those who will one day be running our businesses, greasing the wheels of the economy and leading future generations. Trust me; this bodes very well for our city and the future of the Colorado Springs New Homes and our real estate market.

Who would have thought that Colorado Springs would have been in the Top 10 Local Markets for Bloggers! I also find it interesting that Austin and PDX beat out Seattle! ... very interesting.
