Colorado Springs New Homes economic resolution Two new economic development measures should prove beneficial to the Colorado Springs New Homes area, according to the CSBJ Blog. The El Paso County Board of Commissioners has set the wheels in motion for the following:

- First, a contract between El Paso County and our state's Economic Development Commission would grant $12,500 to "market and promote its enterprise zone," which includes parts of Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs and Fountain - all part of the Colorado Springs New Homes area.

- Second, the Board of Commissioners is developing a "resolution declaring the county's intent to issue revenue bonds that would assist low and middle income residents in financing a home purchase."

I don't need to tell you both these measures hold promise for improvement in our local economy and housing market; the grant will help revitalize certain economic areas of our city, and the revenue bonds will help provide residence for families unable to do so entirely on their own. But I really see these measures as another fine example of our city taking measures to reverse recent trends and stabilize our economy and housing market for the future. In this sense, of course, these efforts are outstanding, and I look forward to similar efforts as our city remains diligent in improving local conditions.
