Colorado Springs New Homes: Construction Industry, Fort Carson A recent Colorado Springs Business Journal article brings us a great analysis of the Colorado Springs New Homes area construction industry. Becky Hurley reports "the 2008 federal budget contains promising news for the construction industry," as growth for 2006-2016 shows a projected annual rate of 1.7 percent. Among the points relevant to local residential real estate,

- fewer Colorado Springs New Homes housing projects will "kick-off during the coming year"

- areas for possible residential groundbreaking in the next year are possible at both InterQuest Marketplace and Colorado Crossing

- LeRoy Landhuis, developer of Lorson Ranch, sees the Fort Carson boost as "some of the year's best news"

Additionally, the Fort Carson boost could result in "anywhere from 2,000 to 3,500 new homes in the next five to six years," which is very good for the Colorado Springs New Homes area. While the short-term picture may seem rather stagnant in light of recent market conditions, the long-term picture here is very promising. As Fort Carson prepares to expand, we look forward to the resulting revitalization of both our local real estate market and Colorado Springs economy.
