Colorado Springs New Homes Canning SpamTired of all that e-mail spam? Colorado lawmakers might soon have something good for your inbox. According to The Gazette, a new measure "would allow the attorney general's office to prosecute people who use false e-mail addresses to commit fraud under the Colorado Consumer Protection Act." Under Rep. Morgan Carroll's (D-Aurora) bill:

- "e-mailers who send consumers fraudulent messages claiming to be from banks or credit card companies would be targets" for prosecution

- "jurisdiction over any fraudulent e-mail sent to a computer in Colorado" is claimed

- the attorney general's office would ultimately have final say on how to interpret and when to enforce the bill, however.

The article notes that similar measures have been passed yet have not been enforced. So for those of use who keep winning the lottery in another country, we may have to hang in there a little while longer and keep tweaking our inbox filters. But if this measure passes soon, the whole of Colorado - including the Colorado Springs New Homes area - could see significantly less spam in the next few years, even months.
