Colorado Springs New Homes: Australian Football

Colorado Springs New Homes Australian Football image courtesy of Wikipedia Mark your calendars, Colorado Springs New Homes sports fans - the United States Australian Football League is coming to town. This October, the USAFL national championships are set to take place at the Air Force Academy. I admit I didn't even know there was an Australian Football League before I read this post about it, but after finding out more, I can say it looks pretty cool! Australian football is a lot different than what we are used to in America, whatnot with the New York Giants and New England Patriots facing off this weekend (go Giants!). For starters:

- Australian football seems more like rugby than American football

- the games are played on an oval-shaped field

- 18 players are allowed on the field per team

So this is definitely something worth checking out this Fall if you like learning new sports or experiencing new things. According to the Colorado Springs Business Journal Blog post, the championships will "be held at the Cadet Athletic Field" on the Academy, and the official date will be announced after the Air Force Football schedule is finalized in a month or two.
