Colorado Springs New Homes: A Stellar Treat

The international space station and the European Automated Transfer Vehicle are guaranteed to make an appearance in tonight's sky, showing up around 7:56 p.m. and staying visible for about five minutes. According to The Gazette, the craft will orbit 240 miles above our planet. A space shuttle could also make an appearance if it "misses the landing window." The article isn't quite clear, but the basic gist I get from it is that there is going to be some docking activity for the vehicles, and the fact they will show up in our sky is just a matter of chance. Regardless, tonight's brief five-minute show is worth catching, as something like this rarely happens. Look for the spacecraft to show up between Pikes Peak and Cheyenne Mountain. The Colorado Springs New Homes area is in for a stellar treat tonight when "as many as three spacecraft will be visible on the city's southwest horizon."
