highest customer-satisfaction ratings of all builders. All of their homes have
character, both indoor and outdoor, and are built to entertain family and
friends. They offer very open and spacious floor plans in The Gables; one of
the favorite floor plans is the Clayborn, a 2,498 square-foot two-story home
with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. John Laing offers great value and is one of the most
custom-oriented builders, emphasizing quality, integrity and service. Their
homes in The Gables range in size from 1,781 to 3,056 square feet and in base
price from $295,000 to $378,000.
Beazer Homes is also in the Gables. They are the fifth-largest
national builder, and they offer a very good dollar amount per square foot.
Their best-selling model in The Gables is the Oak Creek model, which has 4
bedrooms and 2.5 baths at 2,815 square feet; it is a great model. They offer
10-year structural warranty and rank well in customer satisfaction. Their homes
in The Gables range in size from 2,137 to 3,522 square feet and in base price
from $299,000 to $361,900.

Schools/districts
Students within The Gables will attend schools in Falcon School District 49, which is getting
bigger and bigger and continues to improve as a district, posting some of the
highest SAT and ACT scores in the area.
Falcon Elementary
School works together as a community to maximize each child's learning
styles, addressing individual needs to build foundational skills in academics,
fine arts and technology.
Falcon Middles
School's mission is to maximize students' academic growth while creating a
safe and caring environment. The school has for the most part moved to the old
Falcon High School, which sixth graders will join this August.
Falcon High School
moved to its new campus last year. The staff here commits to educating students
by teaching a rigorous curriculum based on state and national standards.
Things To Do
Parks/open space
While there are no parks in The Gables, there is plenty of
open space for enjoyment. Residents will also find several nice parks within
walking distance: Sand Creek Park, Pring Ranch Park and Sandstone Park.
Dining
Residents in this part of town have the chance to enjoy a
great variety of popular restaurants including Old Chicago, Outback Steakhouse,
Red Robin, Mimi's Café, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Cold Stone Creamery, Panera
Bread, Wahoo's Fish Tacos and Chili's. Also in the mix are a few hidden gems
including AI Sushi, Burger City, Leo's Pizzeria and Fox & Hound Restaurant.
Entertainment
The Cinemark 16/IMAX is nearby and offers one of the best
movie-going experiences in town. The World Arena Event Center is about 15-20
minutes away and often features some of the best athletic, musical and
family-friendly displays of entertainment in the area. The Sky Sox minor league
baseball club plays its home games at Security Service Field, which is about
five minutes away.
Shopping
Residents of The Gables have some of the city's best
shopping all within 5-10 minutes away. National stores like Best Buy, Super Target,
CostCo, Whole Foods Market, Dick's Sporting Goods, Lowe's, J.C. Penney, Men's
Wearhouse, Pier 1 imports, World Market, Office Max, GNC, PETsMART, Wild Oats
Natural Marketplace and Staples round out a seemingly endless list of great
shopping opportunities.
Recreation
The recently-opened VillaSport recreation club - just about
five minutes down the road - offers a terrific variety of aerobic, athletic and
fitness opportunities. The Antler Creek golf course is about two miles away, as
are several fine walking trails. Of course, residents may also enjoy the excellent
recreation opportunities Colorado Springs is known for, including visiting the
Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods, and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
