A funny thing has happened in the last month or so since I last posted. Actually, a few funny things have happened:

This blog, coloradospringsnewhomesrealestate.com, went from a Google Page rank 2 to a Google Page rank 4

It also saw a huge jump in the Google search result arena, meaning a simple Google search for our key phrase ” ‘Colorado Springs new homes’ ” found us on page 5 a month ago; today we are solidly on page 2 for that same phrase

Three post joined our infamous Prebles Mouse post in breaking the 1,000-hits mark

One of those posts ” my last post, in fact ” actually broke the 2,000-hits mark¦in one month!

Meanwhile, many other posts have been receiving a lot of reads, especially many of our ‘The Voices View’ neighborhood profiles

So the lesson here, oddly, seems to be this: neglect your blog for a while, and it will yield greater results than when you work on it every day. (Please hear the light touch of tongue-in-cheek inherent in that statement.) Now, while I never would intentionally practice this lesson, I am excited that this blog is apparently self-sustaining at the moment. Of course, I realize this newfound success wouldnt have happened without you, our readers, so I want to take a moment to say:

Thank you! Thanks! Hey pal, nice going! We appreciate you! Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!

Thanks again,

According to The Gazette, the deal:

- includes a $53 million package of incentives

- "The city and Colorado Springs real estate company LandCo Equity
Partners will provide the USOC with 90,000 square feet of office space
in a downtown building, which will serve as a new headquarters for the
USOC."

- "The organization will be allowed to lease the space for $1 a year
over 25 years, and will assume ownership of the building at the end of
that period."

As I've mentioned before, the USOC headquarters, along with the Olympic Training Center, are both unique contributors to the Colorado Springs New Homes area economy, and we are lucky to have them here, as suggested by the $53 million package and the way the possible relocation was such a big deal. I am very excited an agreement was reached to keep the committee in our area.

Well, potential good news for our city today, as the USOC and Colorado Springs officials are close to finalizing an agreement that would keep the headquarters in our city.

Now, the operative words here is "close," as the agreement is not definite and remains to be entirely worked out, but according to The Gazette, the agreement:

- would "include millions of dollars worth of financial incentives for the USOC's new downtown office"

- would include "a major redevelopment of the Olympic Training Center"

- could be approved as soon as Monday

The Olympic Training Center is one of the neat attractions unique to our city, and of course having the USOC here is something we take great pride in. The Training Center is a great attraction for tourists and residents alike, offering year-round tours, access to certain practices and games, and an overall fun time for families. It plays a nice role in our local Colorado Springs New Homes economy, and I hope the deal is finalized, as I would be sad to see this local landmark and distinction leave our city.
