• Colorado produced 23.3 million barrels – 724.5 million gallons of beer – in 2006. • The beer brewing industry in Colorado provides “67,918 jobs – paying $3 billion in wages – as well as $1.6 billion in federal, state, and local taxes.” • “The National Beer Wholesalers Association estimates that Colorado’s beer industry…directly and indirectly contributes $12.4 billion annually to Colorado’s economy.” Colorado is also home to 5 of the top 50 brewing companies in the nation. Does this distinction mean we’re suddenly going to turn into a real estate market hotbed for beer lovers worldwide? I don’t think so, because we’ve already been the second-best beer producing state the last two years; but such a distinction is kind of a nice to have on our state’s resume, at any rate, and it makes for good bragging rights here at Colorado Springs New Homes when we’re trying to land the prospective buyer who does have beer-producing high on their list of requirements.
